Disney Central

Welcome to the shopping, dining, and entertainment district of the resort, Disney Central. This is Disneytopia's counterpart to Downtown Disney in California and Disney Springs in Florida. In three sections, guests can find a wide array of experiences.

The first area guests enter into is the West Side. Here, guests will find two restaurants when they first enter: Earl of Sandwich and Eileen's Ice Cream. Also nearby is Splitville Luxury Lanes, where guests can go bowling. On the left is water while more can be found on the right, including Disney's 12 Days of Christmas, McCool's Irish Pub, Build-a-Bear Workshop, Gem and Jane's Jewelry, Tech Wizz, and Goofy's Candy Co. In a large building is where guests can take part in a new experience, Disney's Escape, a next-generation escape room experience similar to Universal's Great Movie Escape. They can choose one of three rooms to do. In Pirates of the Caribbean: The Lost Treasure, guests search for gold in a cave but must escape from a deadly curse. In Star Wars: Escape from Kajini Base, guests must work together to send a distress call to the Rebel Alliance before the Empire shows up to capture them. Finally, in Avengers: Trouble in Asgard, guests search through Odin's treasure vaults to find a lost weapon before the evil Hela finds it. The Star Wars Store and S.H.I.E.L.D. Base are nearby shops. On the water is Captain Trout's Seafood Stop, a nautical-themed restaurant with seafood, and a gift shop nearby called Captain Trout's Global Imports. Further down the line is Good Fortune Chinese Restaurant and Burger D-Lights.

Going further down will take guests to the East Side. Here, guests can eat at the ESPN Grill, which is accompanied by the ESPN Store. Once Upon a Pin, the largest pin trading shop in the resort, is found nearby. Next to it is Rainforest Cafe and the Rainforest Cafe Shop. Then, guests come to the biggest gift shop in all of Disneytopia, the World of Disney. Close by are Kim's Korean BBQ, Toyville, Fantastic Fashion, and most notably, Gamer's Stop Arcade. At the end of this area are two entertainment experiences. The VOID is home to virtual reality experiences that change from time to time. Also here is AMC Theaters, where guests can watch new movies and also eat at AMC Dine-In Theaters.

Last but not least, guests can go up to a small island where the Riverside district is. Going clockwise around the island, guests first come across Trader Sam's Grog Grotto, a Jungle Cruise-inspired restaurant, which is found across from a pet supply store called For the Pets. Then, they come across the House of Blues and the House of Blues Emporium. Nearby are Boats to the Resorts, where the hotels Musicana and USA are accessible. Then, guests can come by The LEGO Store on the left and Rock'n'Roll Ryan's on the right. The latter is similar to the Hard Rock Cafe, and it features Rock'n'Roll Memorbillia as a gift shop. Guests can also find Groovy Smoothies, Ruby's Cafe, and American Music Company around here.

This was actually a hard thing for me to put together. Not only did I have to think of all I wanted to include, but also where everything would be and the like. The escape room idea is an original idea of mine, and it is inspired by the ones recently installed at Universal Orlando. The rock and roll restaurant was originally supposed to go in Cinematic Kingdom as a compliment to Rock'n'Roller Coaster, but I decided to put it here in the end. I didn't want to have it too much like the Hard Rock Cafe because Universal Orlando has that. While this restaurant doesn't contain rock artifacts, it is still themed to the genre.

  1. Great variety of stores, entertainment, and dining! I really do love the escape room idea. I think it’d be so popular! Always good to see Earl of Sandwich!
